To commemorate 50 years of serving alumni worldwide, the Columbia College Alumni Association (CCAA) board of directors created its first endowed scholarship to assist Columbia College students. After receiving more than 200 applications for the scholarship program, the following students were honored with $1,000 awards recently as part of Alumni Reunion Weekend 2014:

Michelle Henderson Holland (Preston, Missouri) - Lake of the Ozarks campus
Lauren Jaeger (Clarksville, Missouri) - Day campus
Shannon Sare (Aurora, Colorado) - Denver campus

The CCAA Scholars Program is designed to benefit students who exhibit notable affinity for Columbia College. The CCAA Board set a goal of raising $150,000 to fund the scholarship and reached that goal in less than one year thanks to the generosity of more than 190 donors. The criteria for the scholarship included:

  • A fully completed online application form
  • A personal statement of up to 100 words written by the student describing what his or her time at Columbia College has meant to him/her and how they feel CC has benefitted him/her
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Completed at least 24 credit hours with Columbia College
