Columbia College of Missouri–Lake County has awarded the Lake
County campus scholarships to Omar Ramirez of Waukegan, Ill., Morgen Streicher
of Gurnee, Ill., and Margie Mendoza of Highwood, Ill.
To qualify for the award, the
recipients submitted an essay on the following topic: ‘If you had the authority
to change your community in positive ways, what specific changes would you make
and why?’
The $500 scholarship is non-renewable
and can be used toward tuition for in-seat classes at either the Lake County
campus or at the course location at the Naval Station Great Lakes.
“We received several quality entries
for these scholarships and the ideas put forward were inspiring,” Columbia
College-Lake County Campus Director Lyndon Russell said. “Omar, Morgen and
Margie’s submissions were particularly thought provoking and we are proud to
present these scholarships to them.”
