“Please join the veterans on our Columbia College staff in honoring the service and sacrifice given by our students!”
These are the words that greeted NAS Jacksonville students on Nov. 11 as they made their way to class. The staff at NAS Jacksonville created a poster with photos of veterans to show how much they appreciated each and every student who made the commitment to military service. Cookies and other treats were set out on a table decorated in patriotic colors and veterans also were given a red, white and blue lapel pin to commemorate the service of all veterans past, present and future.Director Lori Henry, a U.S. Army veteran, reported that all of the veteran students were very appreciative of the efforts by the staff and that she plans to make Veterans Day special every year.
