Columbia College-Lake of the Ozarks recently inducted five students into Tau Upsilon Alpha, the national honor society for students majoring in the Human Services degree program. The honorees included Tricia Abel (Eldon), Jamie Gallamore (Macks Creek), Christine Keeton (Stover), Jordie Puckett (Camdenton) and Toni Smith (Camdenton).

The Columbia College chapter of the honor society, Alpha Nu, was formed in 2012. In order to be eligible students must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and be in the top 35% of their class and meet additional enrollment criteria.

“These students have committed to excellence and have a passion for helping other people,” Lake campus Director Dr. John Keeney said. “They are the first inductees from our campus into this honor society and have set the pace for future Human Services students.”
