Fort Leonard Wood students inducted into SALUTE and Tau Upsilon Alpha

Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood held an induction ceremony for Tau Upsilon Alpha and SALUTE Veterans Honor Society May 28 in the Truman Education Building at Fort Leonard Wood.


Nine of the 21 SALUTE inductees take the organization's pledge.
Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood students Michelle Garcia, Rosemarie Barette and Rattika Ou were inducted into the Columbia College chapter of Tau Upsilon Alpha. Tau Upsilon Alpha is a national organization for students in human services. The purpose of this honor society is to recognize academic excellence, to foster lifelong learning, leadership and development, and to promote excellence in service to humanity. Membership is reserved for students who rank in the upper 35% of their class and have a minimum 3.25 GPA. Members also must have completed 12 hours of human services courses at Columbia College and have a minimum of 52 total semester hours.

The following Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood students were inducted into the college's chapter of SALUTE Veterans Honor Society: Jose Amador, Elizabeth Baily, Joseph Balvanz, Alma Bevard, Karl Cockrum, Ronald Covington, Brian Edwards, Kris Eldridge, Alethea Ellegor, Joseph Galbraith, John Griffin III, Lesley Joiner, Tokay King, Erik Lawhon, David Livermore, Yxa Mangini, Ashley Marquez, Frank Mosley, Jimmy Novak, Adam Pastor, David Richmond, Kyle Roberts, Kazandra Rodriguez, Maegan Sankovich, Tekpassage Simtaya, David Stewart, Terry Strief, Milana Taylor and Sharon Wilkes.

SALUTE Veterans Honor Society recognizes the academic success of student veterans at Columbia College. Undergraduate membership in SALUTE at Columbia College is reserved for degree-seeking junior and senior honorably discharged veterans, active duty, National Guard, and reservists who have completed at least 12 credit hours at Columbia College with at least a 3.00 GPA. Membership at the graduate level is reserved for honorably discharged veterans, active duty, National Guard, and reservists who have completed 12 graduate credit hours at Columbia College with at least a 3.5 GPA.
