The students of HUMS 345: Working with Communities and Organizations class, taught by Molly Remer, MSW, recently collected suitcases for foster children, who often move from home to home. The class more than doubled its goal of collecting 50 suitcases, and also raised $200 with a bake sale. These efforts were in addition to a 30-page writing assignment students were required to complete for the class.

TheRollaDailyNews.com featured the class' accomplishments in a May 17 article, noting that many of the students in the class were former foster children or foster parents themselves.

The Rolla campus is excited to see its faculty and students interacting with the community and actively employing coursework to make a difference.
