Guantanamo Bay campus welcomes new Director Lou Giamelle

Columbia College-Guantanamo Bay is excited to welcome a new
campus director, Louis Giamelle. Lou received a bachelor's degree in
anthropology from Fordham University in New York City. He joined the United
States Air Force as an Arabic linguist before being commissioned through the
USAF Officers Training School. He completed navigator training at Mather Air
Force Base, and then completed assignments in North Carolina, Nebraska and
Shemya Island. Following a tour at Osan Air Base in Korea, he completed his
military career as a staff planner at United States Strategic Command
Headquarters at Offutt Air Force base in Nebraska.
His wife teaches Spanish and social studies with the
Department of Defense school system. The two moved to Guantanamo Bay in the
summer of 2012 and love it!Please be sure to stop by the campus office to say
hello to Lou. He is very interested in getting to know each of the Guantanamo
Bay students. Also be sure to check out his letter on the front page of the June 2013 newsletter. Welcome, Lou!
