Graduation ceremony and Nurses’ Pinning set for Sunday

When:                  Sunday, April 21, 2013 (Nurses’ Pinning – 11 a.m., Graduation 2 p.m.)
Where:                Lodge of Four Seasons – Lake Ozark, Mo. 

Columbia College will recognize graduates at the Lake of the Ozarks campus commencement ceremony on April 21. The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at the Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark, Mo.  As part of the graduation events, 14 nursing students will be awarded their nurses’ pin at 11 a.m. at the same location recognizing the completion of the nursing program.

Dr. Brad Lookingbill, professor of history at Columbia College will give the commencement address, and Mr. Jerry Patton, assistant dean for the Division of Adult Higher Education, will be conferring degrees. Mrs. Wendy White ’93, executive director of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, will be providing the Columbia College alumni charge. The event is open to the public and a reception will take place following the ceremony.

The Lake Ozark campus was established in 1990 and recently celebrated its 22nd anniversary. In 2004, a new 17,400-square-foot building was constructed, completed in spring 2005. The first classes held in the new facility began in June 2005. Columbia College–Lake of the Ozarks offers eight associate and 11 bachelor’s degrees in-seat as well as 23 associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees online.
