The Festival of Writing is a celebration of student academic essay writing across the disciplines and of Columbia College's commitment to writing excellence.
Selected papers, along with the student authors' pictures and brief bios, will be displayed in the Atkins-Holman Student Commons during the festival.
Students whose papers are selected will be entered in a raffle for $100 Barnes & Noble gift certificates and other prizes.
The Festival of Writing is sponsored by the Writing Center. Be sure to check out all of the events this week:
Monday, March 11, 3:30 p.m.
Opening ceremony, Atkins-Holman Student Commons
Dr. Gerald Brouder and Dr. Terry Smith will speak at the opening ceremony. Papers will be displayed. Some students will read from their papers and certificates will be awarded.
Tuesday, March 12, 11 a.m.
Festival speakers, Atkins-Holman Student Commons
Faculty member Melanie Johnson-Moxely and student Charisse Smith will speak.
Wednesday, March 13, 1 p.m.
Scrabble tournament, Atkins-Holman Student Commons
Thursday, March 14, 6:30 p.m.
Student creative readings, Jane Froman Studio
Friday, March 15, 11 a.m.
Wacky Word Games, Atkins-Holman Student Commons
