Columbia College of Missouri-Elgin campus awards Excellence in Education Scholarship

Brittany Blaesing, a senior at Columbia College of Missouri-Elgin, recently was awarded the Excellence in Education Scholarship for the March 2013 session. Brittany is working on her bachelor’s of science in business administration with majors in management and marketing. To be eligible for the award, nominees were required to have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and submit an essay. A team of Elgin campus faculty reviewed the essays and selected the winner.  “The Elgin campus is proud to honor Brittany for her academic excellence and to support her in achieving her educational goals,” said Karen Beckstrom, campus director.

Columbia College of Missouri features four campuses in the state of Illinois located in Lake County (Gurnee), Crystal Lake, Elgin and Freeport, and offers a variety of in-seat and online degrees. In 1974, the college entered into an agreement to provide post-secondary education opportunities for sailors at Naval Station Great Lakes.
