Columbia College’s online bachelor’s degree programs and the MBA program were recognized in the second edition of Top Online Education Programs by U.S.News & World Report. Recognition was based on teaching practices and student engagement; faculty credentials and training; and student services and technology.
“We are pleased to be recognized by this prestigious organization,” said Dr. Gerald Brouder, president of Columbia College. “We realized the importance of providing online education more than 11 years ago, and since then we’ve redoubled our efforts to enhance our online presence. This recognition is indicative of our commitment to become a model institution.”
U.S.News & World Report ranked online bachelor’s degree programs as well as online graduate degree programs in business, engineering, nursing, education and computer information technology. In order to be considered for the rankings, online degree programs needed to have at least 80 percent of their course content available online.
Columbia College offers 23 online associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 2011 alone, nearly 24,000 students took an online course with the college. Each year, more than 800 undergraduate classes are offered through the Online Campus.
