Student organizes supply drive for Hurricane Sandy victims

Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood

We know everyone had a fun-filled evening of trick-or-treating, but check this out! What a great community we live in! Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood student, Frank Rivera, coordinated a supply drive to benefit those recovering in New York from Hurricane Sandy. Just since Halloween we have already filled one mini-van full of donations!
We would like to thank everyone who has participated. In particular, a special thank you goes to the Mid Missouri Credit Union, which donated five boxes of t-shirts, and many bags of shampoo, toothbrushes, soap and much more. Another special thank you goes to the Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood Student Organization, which donated ten cases of water, ten cases of vegetables and seventy-two cans of soup. Also, a special thank you goes to the many students and faculty who have donated an endless amount of supplies, including twenty-five boxes of non-perishable meals! Finally, a big hand goes to Frank Rivera who volunteered his own time to oversee the collection and take the donations to New York. It is amazing how much has been collected in just a short amount of time. Great work everyone and thank you for your kindness!
