Dodge Brawl team helps raise $6,500 for local school children

Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood

The Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood Student Organization is continuing the tradition of supporting not only students on campus, but the local community, as well. Maria Glenn, president of the Student Organization, organized a team to compete in the Snack in a Pack (SIAP) Annual Dodge Brawl event on Saturday, October 27, which raised $6,500 for SIAP.

SIAP is a program that provides food on weekends and holiday breaks to Waynesville R-VI public school children in need. The Columbia College Cool Cougars team got pumped as they defeated their first competitor, the Drury Poppin' Panthers. The Dodge Brawl tournament included 64 teams from colleges, businesses, and high school students, among others.  While the Cool Cougars did not win the overall tournament, they had a wonderful time, especially knowing that all proceeds benefited the SIAP program.

During the tournament a special guest arrived—Scooter! Scooter proudly cheered on the team and took pictures with many of the local students. The Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood staff would like to thank Maria Glenn, the Student Organization, and the team members for supporting the event!
