Students in Washington learn about art through architecture

Columbia College-NS Everett/Marysville

Mark Ondrake, adjunct instructor at Columbia College, coordinated a  tour of downtown Everett historic architecture, emphasizing Neo-Classical, Romanesque revival, and Renaissance Revival.

Jack O’Donnell, of the historic Everett preservation group, gave a commentary to supplement materials covered in the Columbia College Arts 111: Ancient Medieval Art History class.

The tour was well attended, and all the students enjoyed seeing local buildings in the different historical styles.  The hotel entrance shown is a type of Neo-Beaux-Arts with a “broken pediment.”
