The Rolla community, including all Columbia College alumni in the area, is invited to the campus’ annual Community and Alumni Fall Fun-fest at the new campus location (550 Blue's Lake Parkway). The event, which will feature free food, games and great activities, will take place this Saturday, Sept. 8 from 1-4 p.m.
Attendees can win door prizes and check out interactive displays. A raffle, benefitting the campus’ Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society, will be held. Questions about the event can be directed to Velda Kossuth at 573-341-3350 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Established in 1992, Columbia College-Rolla was originally an extension of Columbia College-Fort Leonard Wood. In 1996, due to enrollment growth, Columbia College-Rolla was established as a separate campus. In September 2011, Columbia College-Rolla received a substantial gift from Springfield, Mo.-based philanthropist, Jim D. Morris. Morris made a donation of property with a building he owned in Rolla West, which is used for a new Columbia College-Rolla campus.
The building includes a multitude of classroom space and a science laboratory. A ribbon cutting for the new 37,000-foot facility was held in August of 2012.
