Columbia College of Missouri-Lake County alumna honored by the Columbia College Alumni Association (CCAA)

Victoria Bishop Ryan '99
The Columbia College Alumni Association (CCAA) honored Victoria Bishop Ryan ’99 with the 2012 Columbia College Professional Achievement Award for attaining outstanding regional and national recognition in one’s chosen career field.

“Not only is Victoria a leader in her profession, but she’s also a natural at connecting with students as an adjunct faculty member for the college,” said Steve Stephany, director of Columbia College of Missouri-Lake County. “She relates to their experiences and truly inspires them.”

Ryan works for HD Supply, Inc., one of the largest industrial distribution companies in North America, which caters to more than 450,000 professional customers. As the director of learning and organizational effectiveness, she leads innovative solutions to develop, deliver, reinforce and measure learning effectiveness. Prior to her role at HD Supply, she was a senior program manager for Supply Chain, a solution architect for AchieveGlobal and a successful independent business owner of The Ryan Group, ETC (Education, Training, Consulting).

Ryan is the recipient of many awards including the Chief Learning Officer Gold and Bronze awards in 2008 and 2010 respectively. She received the HD Supply Association Achievement Award in 2011. Also in 2011, her case study, “From Recession to Resilience,” was published. Additionally, Ryan is a researcher for the American Cancer Society and a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the American Heart Association. She co-founded Network Now, a community for self-employed women, and is an active supporter for Habitat for Humanity and a retired long-time Girl Scout leader.

Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Columbia College of Missouri-Lake County and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. She resides in Libertyville, Ill.
