Columbia College-Fort Worth alumna named Teacher of the Year

The school district of White Settlement (just west of the Fort Worth area) comprises of about 700 employees and nearly 6,400 students. Hannah graduated from Columbia College-Fort Worth in 2008, and was hired as a 3rd grade teacher by the district that fall. She was voted "Rookie Teacher of the Year" her first year.
"Maria is an incredible teacher. She works hard to ensure her students are learning by using engaging, hands-on lessons," said Dr. Brenda Cole, associate director of Columbia College-Fort Worth. "Maria shined in all of her education courses she took at Columbia College. I am not surprised that the school district selected Maria as their most outstanding teacher. Maria has a true gift to teach and loves all of her students. Her time and devotion is noticed by parents, teachers and administrators. We are so happy for her success."
