For the past few years, students, faculty and staff at Columbia College-Lake County have participated in the Adopt-A-Family program supporting the Staben House in Waukegan, Ill. The Staben House is a transitional housing facility for homeless women with children that provides programs to foster self-sufficiency and independent living skills.
During this time, the college has grown from adopting two or three families to 15 this year. This is all due to generosity of students, faculty and staff. Tabitha Scott, administrative assistant, has spearheaded this effort for the last couple of years, and Sarah Middaugh, administrative assistant, has supported Tabitha this year in wrapping and handling the presents.
