Columbia College-Fort Worth sponsors blood drive on base

Nick Young, a student at Columbia College-Fort Worth, donates blood
Columbia College-Fort Worth sponsored a blood drive at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas, on Nov. 7. Students rolled up their sleeves to donate their blood and commit to becoming a regular blood donor. Carter BloodCare congratulated Columbia College and their students for saving so many lives — each pint donated saved three lives.

According to Carter BloodCare, Columbia College students will make organ transplants possible and help patients survive surgeries, cancer, accidents, life-threatening burns and other medical conditions. Their donation center needs 1,100 donors daily to just meet the needs of all the hospitals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
