Columbia College-Fort Drum celebrated five years of educational excellence with a reception on Nov. 16 at the Fort Drum McEwen Education Center in Fort Drum, N.Y. Faculty, staff, students and area alumni attended.

Wanda Lancaster, director of Columbia College-Fort Drum gave remarks as well as Joe Agresti, education services officer for Fort Drum; Tom Cason, a retired college administrator who was instrumental in the establishment of the campus; and Ed Burke, an adjunct psychology instructor.

"When this campus started, there were only a handful of students," said Lancaster. "Being on one of the most deployed military installations in the Army has definitely created some unique challenges, but as word spread about the quality of our programs and the level of service that Columbia College provides, our enrollments steadily increased."

Columbia College-Fort Drum was established in 2006 to serve military and working adults on Fort Drum and nearby Watertown, N.Y.

Columbia College-Fort Drum offers five bachelor’s degree programs in-seat as well as 23 associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees online.
