Columbia College-Crystal Lake participates in Veterans Day activities

Debra Hartman, director of Columbia College-Crystal Lake reads from the list of names
Staff members from Columbia College-Crystal Lake read 250 names of the more than 6,000 Americans who died in Iraq or Afghanistan in the past decade during a National Roll Call event held on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

Columbia College's main campus in Columbia, Mo., read about 4,000 names, and 11 additional Columbia College campuses (including Crystal Lake) volunteered to read 250 names.

"We hold our freedoms close and feel grateful to have been a part of such a widespread event recognizing all veterans, but especially those who died for these freedoms," said Debra Hartman, director of Columbia College-Crystal Lake. "This was a great, and moving opportunity to pause and remember."

Staff member Erica Poremba also reads from the list of names
