Columbia College-NS Everett/Marysville student scores in 99th percentile for Major Field Test

Tatiana Sarmiento
Tom Larsen, NS Everett/Marysville director, reports that MBA student Tatiana Sarmiento, who will graduate this month, scored in the 99th percentile of the Major Field Test (MFT) in September. Nearly 1,000 colleges and universities across the United States take part in the MFT, a three-hour exam designed to assess student achievement and evaluate curriculum each year.

Sarmiento, who earned her Linguistics Teaching Bachelors of Arts degree from Nizhyn Novgorod University in Russia, completed her MBA while juggling motherhood (mom of a very active, almost-2-year old child) and full-time work while her husband, active duty U.S. Navy, serves aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72).

She was inducted last May into Sigma Beta Delta, the international business degree honor society, her GPA being a sterling 4.0.
