Nine new members inducted into Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society

On Friday evening, April 23, nine new members were inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for business, management and administration. Eight of these new members are students at the Jefferson City campus, and one was from our Lake Ozark campus. Undergraduate members that were inducted include: Melissa Bardwell, Christy Evers, Matthew Farris, Rochelle Flippin, Allyse Keeney, Christy Kempker, Melissa Kendrick and Danielle Kreutzer. Graduate members that were inducted include: Renee D’Alessandro. We are very proud of their academic accomplishments which earned them an invitation to join this elite society.

Membership in Sigma Beta Delta at Columbia College is reserved for undergraduate junior and senior business administration majors that rank in the top 20 percent of their class with a 3.5 or higher GPA and have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at Columbia College. Graduate students who have placed in the top 20 percent of their class with a 3.5 or higher GPA and have completed 15 credit hours at Columbia College are also invited to join. Columbia College and Sigma Beta Delta are organizations that recognize and promote outstanding scholastic achievement.

The evening of our induction ceremony began with a gathering of the honorees families and friends. Kim Bonine, director of Columbia College–Jefferson City, opened with a welcome from the college and an introduction of past inductees who assisted in the ceremony. Returning Sigma Beta Delta members were Keith Foster, Derek Leffert, Karen McHugh and Eva Yeager.

The event closed with a small reception and photo opportunities. It was a lovely evening and we hope each of the students who are pursuing a business major at the Jefferson City campus will strive for this academic excellence and an invitation to join such an outstanding organization!
