Spreading Christmas cheer

The Lake County campus was proud to continue its tradition of helping families in need this Christmas. With the generous donations we received, we were able to provide gifts for four different families currently residing in the Waukegan Township Staben House. The Staben House is a transitional facility for homeless women and children that uses donated items to provide goods and services to families to help them become independent and self-sufficient.

We would like to extend a special thank you to staff member Christina Overstreet for organizing the donations again this year. Also deserving of special recognition are students Bettina Teitz, Julie Fanning and Donna Miklovic. These three each “adopted” one whole family, providing them with all the gifts from their wish list. They truly went above and beyond and personally ensured that these families had a merry Christmas.

The following faculty, staff and students also donated gifts this year: Erwin Amar, Peggy Berry, Charlene Cardinal, Greg Dionne, Cristina Gonzalez, Nancy Gonzalez, Letisia Gutierrez, Melissa Hart, Roland Higbee, Nancy Janke, Matthew Lathrop, Margarita Leon, Gabrielle Mulnix, Keith Nelson, India Nix, Christina Overstreet, Princess Pulido, Lyndon Russell, Thomas Scheidt, James Sewell, Kennith and Brandy Snider, Stephen Stephany, Robert Thomas, Nikki Tyson, and Nathan Weishuhn. Thank you to everyone who contributed. Your participation made this program a success!
