A tradition of giving
For the past several years, Columbia College–Lake County has worked with area organizations to provide toys, clothes and other Christmas gifts to families in need. This year, staff and students donated gifts to five families (13 individuals) who are currently staying in the Waukegan Township Staben House. The Staben House is a transitional facility for homeless women and children that uses donated items to help families become independent and self-sufficient.We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this year's collection. Your donation helped ensure that each of these families had a merry Christmas. A special thank you also goes out to staff member Christina Overstreet for organizing and coordinating this year’s donations. Her efforts led to one of the most successful Christmas donations to date.
If you are interested in donating items to the Staben House, please contact them at (847) 244-9944. You can also learn more about the Staben House and the Staben Center, a transitional facility for homeless men, online at www.waukegantownship.com.
