Notification of class cancellations for Evening Campus

Columbia College has a phone number students can call to determine whether classes on the home campus in Columbia, Mo. have been delayed or canceled due to inclement weather or other unexpected events. The number is (573) 875-SHUT. Decisions to delay or cancel day classes due to weather will be made by 6:30 a.m. and decisions regarding evening classes will be made by 3 p.m.

Occasionally, a faculty member will need to cancel a class even though the college officially has not canceled classes. Please note the (573) 875-SHUT phone number will not give individual class cancellation notices.

You can also obtain timely information about class delays or cancellations through the local media. The best sources for this information are radio stations KFRU (1400 AM), KCLR (99.3 FM) and KBIA (91.3 FM), and television stations KOMU-TV (NBC 8), KMIZ-TV (ABC 17) and KRCG-TV (CBS 13).

It is important to remember that while the Columbia, Mo. campus might delay or cancel classes, it does not necessarily mean classes have been delayed or canceled at the campuses in Moberly, Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks, Rolla or Fort Leonard Wood. To determine whether an adult higher education campus is holding classes, please check the campus Web site.
