Jefferson City staff member nominated for service award

Laura Thompson, administrative assistant for Columbia College–Jefferson City, was nominated for the Exceptional Employee Award. The award recognizes individuals who are making a difference by providing outstanding customer service and improving levels of customer satisfaction. To be nominated, employees must work closely with customers, take time to ask customers for feedback, find opportunities for improvement, consistently exceed customer expectations and present a positive attitude.

Thompson was nominated for the award by Janet Struttman, former assistant director for the Jefferson City campus. “Laura is enthusiastic about her job and shows a great deal of respect to her co-workers, the faculty and the students. Her positive attitude and calm demeanor are always evident," said Struttman.

Nominees were recognized at the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce BIG Expo on Oct. 9 and were featured in a video produced by KOMU-TV. Finalists and their supervisors were treated to a special luncheon in their honor hosted by Central Bank.
